Hi, welcome to my site on Satellite TV,
This site was created to give a quick guide to satellite tv, i hope to share information about the platform and also provide links to other, more information packed sites.
The site will expand over time with more details included and i will upload pictures of my equipment when i get the chance so please bare with me. Currently this site focus's on Analogue and Digital satellite.
SITE UPDATES AND INFORMATION:
23rd February 2006: Well i promised that i would update the site more often but as you can see it hasnt happened
. I have received two new universal LNB's, one from Red and another from a friend of his, ffej on DigitalSpy. Thankyou both sooooo much for giving me these LNB's, they will come in very handy.
Also, a hole has been drilled through the old window frame so the cable doesnt have to keep being disconnected every time i have finished with it
.
To recap, i have the following:
Sky Amstrad DRX100 Digibox (Digital) From a carboot.
Manhattan Plaza ST100 (Digital) From Redmund.
Maspro ST9 (Analogue) From a carboot.
Two old "standard" LNB's.
One Enhanced LNB From Ross.
Three Universal LNB's, One from ffej and Two from Redmund.
Two 70CM Dish's, One from a schoolfriend and another from a family friend.
One 98CM Dish from Redmund.
Two dish motors, both from Redmund.
Quite a list, i am hoping to get the Sky Digibox working in the bedroom sometime. There are some new pictures to come soon.
29th December 2005: Hope you all had a good christmas, as the year draws to a close i would like to suggest a page that Analoguesat (Ross) has on his own site: http://www.digitalsat.co.uk/chasingmidnight.html , This provides info about seeing the new year in from various time zones before we get our own new year. Happy new year to everyone

2nd December 2005: Where has the time gone? Its been nearly four months
.
I suppose its because i started college in september but i just havnt had the time to update the site, well i have but just havnt done it
.
Not that i have stopped playing with my setup, i have re-mounted the dish (again) this time putting a scaffold pole in a bucket and making sure it was as close to vertical as i could manage.
I currently have 20 or so satellite positions (i think) stored in the receiver and its all working great.
I shall probably do what Analoguesat (Ross) did one year and see the new year in from differant time zones, so i will have loads of new years all in one night
Also, great news that all the ITV channels are free, i was so happy when it happened although that was probably a month ago now.
Will start updating the site more often now i have settled into college, i promise

13th August 2005: One week ago (last saturday) i managed to get a sky digibox but with no remote. It cost me six pounds and i suppose i could have got it down to five but i was too excited
. As I wasn’t getting all the channels on the sky digibox I asked on digitalspy if it was because I was using an enhanced LNB instead of a Universal one. I thought it was and Ross confirmed it for me. After I said I would have to make my limited amount of money stretch for a new LNB and digibox remote a nice bloke by the name of Redmund offered me a Manhattan Plaza ST 100, a 98CM Funke dish, two HH dish motor’s, a load of cable and f-connectors and finally a Humax 0.3db Universal LNB.
Thank you soooo much Redmund for all the equipment and the trouble you went to bringing it to me. The equipment will be put to good use and pictures will be in the respective sections.
9th July 2005: On Monday (4th July) i got hold of a second dish, yay! After measuring it i found it was a 70cm dish but when it was next to my other dish it looked the same size so i measured my other dish and thats 70cm aswell. Looks like i cant measure so just to clarify i have two 70cm dish's. I will put a picture up when i get the chance to.
2nd June 2005: I have added a list of analogue channels which are avaliable on the Astra cluster at 19.2 East which was suggested in the guestbook.
12th May 2005: Today i added a forum and a new page on my new reciever, you will find pictures of it with a little information.
6th May 2005: Got the site over to bravenet fairly easilly, in the not too distant future i will add a list of channels and a forum, both of which i had problems with on the freewebs service. While the forum is unavaliable please leave any comments, queries or suggestions in the guestbook.
4th May 2005: Not long after typing the information below i was told of the wonderful Bravenet, much much better than freewebs. Please bear with me while i get everthing in order.
4th May 2005: Sorry about the site being offline but the monthly usage was used up. Its been quite busy while the site has been unavaliable. I got myself a Maspro ST9 analogue satellite reciever to replace the Amstrad, hopefully i will get pictures up soon but that might take forever
. Also i am currently looking for an alternative to freewebs to host my site, if i find one i will remove all pages except the main page where instructions will be left on how to reach my new site. Dont worry, everything will be saved on my computer before i delete it, even the guestbook.
14th April 2005: Finally got a picture of my dish setup, please dont laugh
. Have a look at the "Equipment" page to see it. I have also re-edited the "Equipment" and "Future plans" pages a bit.
12th April 2005: After taking my reciever apart i have decided it is no longer safe to use it, but dont worry, i will be on the lookout for a replacement. More info on my equiment page.
4th April 2005: Finally got round to adding a guestbook, had a few problems creating a forum so the guestbook will have to be used as one. Also changed the pictures in the "Equipment" section so they dont take as long to load. Please leave any comments and ideas in the guestbook and dont hesitate to contact me at satstuff@hotmail.co.uk if you want to contact me directly ![]()
31st March 2005: Yet again time seem's to be slipping away and i have only just got round to updating the site design, i hope you all like it. Hopefully it will give the site a more "open" look. I also hope to add a picture of my dish sometime soon although that might mean in a few months ![]()
2nd February 2005: I cant believe it, its been nearly two months since i last updated this page. Those of you who have been looking round the site recently will have noticed that the "My Equipment" page has some new pics (its been like that since January but i haven't found the time to inform you all)
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy new year
I may be updating the design of the site, if i see somthing suitable then i will give the site a new look.
6th December 2004: Sorry i have not been updating recently but i dont know where the time has gone, its been nearly a month now!
Anyway, i have updated the "links" page, you will find some more sites listed as well as some information as to what they contain. I have also added a new section, "Future plans" although theres not much in there its a start. ![]()
11th November 2004: After setting up my equipment to have a quick run through of the channels still broadcasting, and to see the info card informing viewers that France 5/Arte had now ceased, (mentioned on www.analoguesat.co.uk and www.digitalspy.co.uk/satellite) it now looks like its been switched off. Also the Astra test card at 10921 H seems to have been switched off ![]()
19th October 2004: Between 4:30PM and 5:00PM i managed to find Turksat 1C / Eurasiasat 1 at 42 East ![]()
15th October 2004: Pictures of most of my equipment now in the "Equipment" section, sorry about the low quality, this will be seen to over time.
